Accessing therapy

At Ieso we know it can be daunting taking the first step towards overcoming and accessing treatment for mental health conditions. 1 in 5 of us will experience some form of mental health condition such as depression and/or anxiety each year. If the symptoms of stress, worry, or low mood are getting in the way of your everyday life, we can help. Our online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) service lets you have real-time, one-to-one therapy with a licensed therapist, at a time and place convenient for you.

  • What is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)?

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological therapy that helps you understand and recognize how some of your thoughts can affect your actions and behavior. This in turn can influence the way you feel. This has been proven to be effective in treating a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions. Within CBT sessions, your therapist will work with you to change these thinking patterns and behaviors, leading to improving your mental wellbeing.

  • How can Ieso help?

Ieso Digital Health is working to increase access to high quality cognitive behavioral therapy. With Ieso, you will be communicating with your therapist purely via written (typed) conversation in real time over the internet. Online CBT sessions follow the same format as traditional face-to-face therapy but take place in a secure online therapy room where you instant message with your therapist. This enables you to attend from anywhere you feel most comfortable. All you need is a device that can connect to the internet.

Online CBT can be used to treat a range of common mental health disorders. Some of these include:

    • Anxiety
    • Depression (including perinatal)
    • Fears and phobias
    • Panic attacks
    • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
    • Social anxiety and shyness
  • Am I eligible?

The information that you provide during registration helps us to check your eligibility for our services. We will use your zipcode, name and date of birth to ensure that you are in a covered location, of the correct age and are covered by accepted insurance providers. You can check whether you are eligible here.

  • What to expect

To get started, you'll first need to enter your details to create an account with us. So that we can allocate you the best therapist for treatment, we will need you to complete a series of simple questionnaires to help us learn more about you.

Once we have confirmed your eligibility, you will receive a welcome letter and an appointment request from your therapist in 3-5 days. Appointments are normally once a week, and are 30 or 60 minutes in length. On average, patients have 6 sessions with us, but this can be longer or shorter depending on what you and your therapist decide is most suitable for you.

Between appointments you may be asked to do 'homework' which usually means thinking about topics suggested by your therapist, and making notes. These are very helpful to keep focused and will be discussed at your next appointment.

You can also take advantage of written communication, and review the written record of your therapy sessions, as a way to remember things. You can review your treatment at any time, even after your appointments have ended.

I realize the changes I can make in my life to improve it...

I have grown more confident and I am much less scared...
