Today is International Women's Day - March 8th – where millions of people across the globe will celebrate the social, economic and political achievements of women, gender parity and equal rights. #IWD is not only about unity, reflection, advocacy and action, it’s a day to celebrate every female in our lives. A day where we should be making a positive difference to everyone.

With this year’s #IWD theme being ‘an equal world is an enabled world’ - #eachforequal – we at Ieso Digital Health advocate equality and enablement for everyone. Diversity and inclusion is part of our makeup and we are determined to remove barriers in everything we do, including access to mental healthcare – helping everyone to be their best self and have access to new opportunities.

As a digital business based in Cambridge, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics), alongside data science is at the core of our DNA and, while we have a number of women in tech-led roles here, generally women are still lacking in technology-related positions. With the digital skills gap widening, we have an opportunity to work to close this gap by helping more women find opportunities in tech.

Today technology is changing at a staggering pace, and the most effective way to stay relevant is through continuous learning. With a mission to empower more women to keep learning and achieve more in technology, this international women’s day Microsoft is announcing a series of free data science bootcamps – to help women enter into the exciting world of technology. Ieso shares this mission and is proud to be teaming up with Microsoft to host one of these bootcamps in in Cambridge, as part of it #balanceforbetter initiative.

Alongside Microsoft, we want to support women breaking into technology by equipping them with the right skills and opportunities to succeed, and enabling them to take their next step on the journey towards a career in technology. The overall objective of these bootcamps is to inspire women to sign up to a longer-term learning plan With Microsoft to enable them to move into a role as a data scientist.

As part of Microsoft’s initiative, there will also a Data Science programme for women returners, which aims to provide women with initial skills and education in preparation for a career in Data Science. Upon completion of the Bootcamp training, Microsoft partners will be hosting a recruitment day to fill Data Science positions.

With inspirational speakers and new learning opportunities for women, Ieso will be hosting its workshop with Microsoft on 21st May 2020. Registration for this and all of Microsoft’s other Data Science Bootcamps is open now.
